Our Goal

Homeless Mpowerment is designed to be accessible to everyone, including people using assistive technologies, older devices, or limited internet connections.

Accessibility Features

• Skip-to-content link — available as the first focusable element on every page.
• Keyboard navigation — all interactive elements are reachable and operable via keyboard alone.
• Screen-reader support — semantic HTML landmarks (<main>, <nav>, <header>, <footer>), ARIA labels, and role attributes.
• High contrast — text meets WCAG AA contrast ratios; a high-contrast mode activates automatically for users who prefer it.
• Scalable text — text remains readable at 200% zoom without loss of content or functionality.
• Touch-friendly — large tap targets (minimum 48x48 CSS pixels) and generous spacing.
• No-JS fallback — all resource information is accessible with JavaScript disabled via static category pages.
• Reduced motion — respects prefers-reduced-motion settings.
• Print friendly — clean print layout for offline use.

Compliance

We target WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance. We test using keyboard-only navigation, screen readers (NVDA, VoiceOver), and browser zoom tools.

Known Limitations

Resource information is maintained manually; some records may have incomplete accessibility details for individual service locations. We mark accessibility information where known.
